My sense of safety was shattered in 2015 when I received a diagnosis of breast cancer. But when my son, Noah Levinson, suggested making my journey into a podcast, I jumped in with both feet. The Chemo Files tells of the strange and unjust world of Cancer Land, but also illuminates its brighter corners. The portrait we created was often scary but surprisingly funny. The Chemo Files won an inaugural June L. Biedler prize from the American Association for Cancer Research and first prize in podcasts from the NJ Society of Professional Journalists.
